The United States has been warned of the emergence of a unique, more contagious variant of the coronavirus, reports CNN citing the report of the White House working group on coronavirus.

According to the document, during the autumn-spring spike in the pandemic in the country, the rate of increase in the incidence almost doubled the corresponding figures during the spring and summer outbreaks. It is assumed that the United States could develop its own version of the coronavirus, which could be 50 percent more infectious. Experts also report that a “British” strain of the virus is spreading across the United States.
