Sony will bury PlayStation 4 Pro

Sony has no plans to sell its previous generation console anymore. This can be seen from the information posted in online store PlayStation.

On the official PlayStation Direct US online store, the PlayStation 4 Pro page states that the game console is not available for purchase. The description of the attachment specifies that the manufacturer is not going to replenish the store’s stock. This may indirectly hint that the Japanese corporation does not plan to sell the PS4 Pro of the previous generation in the future and is going to bury its product.

Also, the base PS4 console is currently not available for purchase on PlayStation Direct. However, there is no additional information in the description of the device that Sony is not going to supply the console to the store. Apparently, the company will keep the original PlayStation 4 on sale. However, both PS4 and PS4 Pro can be purchased at electronics stores.

PS4 was presented in February 2013, its charged version – PlayStation 4 Pro – was announced in the fall of 2016. Sony’s current console is the PlayStation 5, which went on sale on November 19th.

In September, the head of Sony Interactive Entertainment Jim Ryan stated that the PlayStation 4 released in 2013 will remain relevant for another three or four years. Despite the release of the PS5, Sony is interested in owners of an older version of the console and believes that tens of millions of gamers will use it.
