Board of Directors “MegaFon” approved candidacy for position of executive director

MegaFon’s Board of Directors approved the candidacy of the former head of Magnit Khachatur Pombukhchan for the position of the company’s executive director, reports TASS citing the telecom operator. The decision on the appointment will be made in January at the meeting of the company’s shareholders.

MegaFon noted that the purpose of creating the position of executive director is to strengthen the areas of transformation and issues of operational efficiency of the business. Pombukhchan will be in charge of business development and efficiency improvement, functionally subordinate to the company’s CEO Gevork Vermishyan .

In June, Pombukhchan joined the board of directors of MegaFon. He also holds the position of commercial director at USEM Telecom (owns 100 percent of Megafon).

In the period from 2008 to 2018, Pombukhchan was the financial director of Magnit, and in 2018 he became the head of the company. In 2018-2019, he held the position of a member of the board of directors of the City Supermarket company – the Azbuka Vkusa chain. Since February 2020, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of DTS Retail.
