Criminals broke into wrong house and offered owners to pay damages

Criminals in the Canadian city of London, Ontario, by mistake broke into the wrong house, apologized to the owners and offered them compensation. The website of the CTV News channel reports.

On Friday evening, December 11, two local residents were watching TV at home. They heard a noise and realized that someone was breaking down their door.

After that, two men entered the room, one of whom raised a hammer over their heads. He began to demand money that the owners of the house supposedly owed him.

Soon the attackers realized that they had broken into the wrong house by mistake, apologized, and even offered the victims to pay damages. After that, they left without hindrance.

The residents of the house called police , and law enforcement officers found and detained two 27- summer residents of the cities of Sarnia and the community of Keswick, Ontario. Both detainees were charged with illegal entry into a home, causing harm in the amount of less than five thousand Canadian dollars (287.7 thousand rubles) and possession of weapons.

Earlier it was reported that police in Windsor, Canada, arrested a thief after she got into a police car, mistaking it for hers. The detective got out of the car, introduced himself as a police officer and arrested the suspect for theft and possession of stolen property.
