The arrested administrator of the opposition Telegram channel “Belarus of the Brain” Igor Losik and his wife Darya went on an indefinite hunger strike, Tut.by reports.
Moosie made this decision after a new charge was brought against him – under the article “Preparation for a crime”, which allows him to extend his detention.
The administrator of the Telegram channel was detained on June 25, a criminal case was opened against him under the article “Organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them.”
The blogger’s wife claimed that he was “deliberately created inhuman conditions” under arrest: he was transferred from cell to cell, deprived of letters and the press, a cellmate with head lice was planted. “For my husband and father of our daughter, they arranged a torture, placing him in conditions that were not very different from bestial,” she said.
In Belarus, mass protests have continued for four months due to the official results of the presidential elections, according to which the candidate for a sixth term Alexander Lukashenko received 80 percent of the votes.
