Rescued from sleep, dog unexpectedly gave birth to seven puppies

A nervous dog in the US city of Merced, California, was rescued from euthanasia and unexpectedly gave birth to seven puppies. The website of the TV channel Kolo 8 reports.

Palomino Valley Animal Rescue Center founder Terri Braunworth said the husky named Maya was picked up from the street and taken to a shelter. No one wanted to take the dog for themselves, as it squeezed into a corner and behaved anxiously when people approached it. Because of this, they decided to put Maya to sleep.

The day before she was put to sleep, a representative from the Animal Rescue Center picked her up and drove her to The Bark House, a private dog rearing center in Sparks, Nevada. After a few days, the animal began to behave strangely. As it turned out, the dog was pregnant.

“She gave birth to seven cute puppies,” said the head of the Center. “She has changed a hundred percent since she came here. Now she’s not so shy,” said Michelle Devinny, owner of The Bark House.

The Animal Rescue Center is preparing to look for owners for the puppies. Each of them will cost $ 325 (23.7 thousand rubles). The price will include implantation of a microchip, sterilization and all vaccinations. The center is looking for a home for Maya.

Previously it was reported that a dog named Binx was returned to orphanage for being “too good”. The family wanted to go through the difficulties associated with raising a dog, but never faced them.
