Smartphone battery-draining settings revealed

Bluetooth and notifications can seriously reduce smartphone battery life. Director of the Institute of Information Technologies of the Synergy University Stanislav Kosarev said this in a conversation with the Prime agency .

The expert revealed settings that can negatively affect the battery life of the phone. First of all, these include the functions of geolocation, contactless payment and Bluetooth. “It is better to disable these applications if you do not use them on an ongoing basis,” recommended Kosarev.

The specialist noticed that in the absence of a Wi-Fi network connection, the device will constantly search for an available Internet point, thereby draining battery reserves. He also advised turning off Wi-Fi without the need for fast wireless internet. Stanislav Kosarev also recommended disabling the automatic adjustment of screen brightness and notifications from applications.

In addition, the expert said that the device’s battery can be killed by automatic downloading of updates. If it runs in the background, the smartphone slows down and starts to consume battery quickly.

Earlier, Kosarev noticed that leaving a smartphone charger in an outlet is dangerous. In his opinion, this may cause increased heating of the power adapter and the occurrence of a fire hazard.
