Ukraine: a criminal case was opened on performance of Hungarian anthem by deputies

Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) opened a criminal case on the performance of the Hungarian anthem on the official the event by the deputies of the territorial community in the Transcarpathian region. The agency “Ukrainian News” reports about it.

Hungarian deputies are also accused of encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of the country and of forging documents: “The circumstances of the actions of the deputies of the Syurt rural united territorial community in the Transcarpathian region are being investigated in criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 110 – an encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine , part 1 of article 111 – treason and part 3 of article 358 – forgery “.

December 1 it became known that the SBU carried out mass searches in the Transcarpathian region at a local charitable foundation, checking information about the involvement of Hungarians in activities aimed at violating state sovereignty. The actions of law enforcement officers angered the Hungarian authorities – they promised to raise the issue in NATO .

Relations between Ukraine and Hungary aggravated against the background of local elections in Transcarpathia. On election day, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary Peter Siyjarto Ukrainian Hungarians to vote for the party “Society of Hungarian Culture of Transcarpathia” and the current mayor of Beregovo, representative of the Hungarian community Zoltan Babiak. In 2019, a scandal erupted between Ukraine and Hungary.
