Klitschko announced lack of money in Kiev for mass testing for coronavirus

The Mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko announced the lack of funds for the city testing for coronavirus. He announced this during a briefing on December 9, “Strana.ua” reports.

According to Klitschko, it will be difficult to implement the initiative Ukrainian government on mass testing because this requires the simultaneous taking of PCR tests from millions of people. However, there is no such number of tests. In addition, mobile laboratories are needed. “Unfortunately, today I do not see such opportunities for the state,” the mayor said.

Mass testing in Lviv will cost 500 million hryvnia, said Klitschko. “Can you imagine how much money is needed for this in the capital, where the population is several times greater? Therefore, such things can be done on a national scale, and not on a particular city,” the mayor said.

Earlier, the Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov ordered to expand the circle of persons subject to PCR -testing.

December 9 in the country set a record for mortality from coronavirus.
