Roskomnadzor was offered to allow unscheduled inspections of IT companies during data leakage

Mincifers proposed to introduce unscheduled checks of accredited IT companies that allowed personal data leaks. The draft government decree was published on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.

“The document was prepared in order to prevent problems related to mass leaks of personal data,” the explanatory note says.

If the decision is adopted by Roskomnadzor, in agreement with the prosecutor’s office, can conduct unscheduled inspections of operators, including accredited IT companies.

The condition for the start of an unscheduled audit will be the establishment of the fact of distribution on the Internet of personal data databases (or their parts), including signs of belonging to an accredited organization, it is said in the note.

Public discussion of the project will last until December 28th.
