Football: Welshman Gareth Bale retires

At 33, Welsh football star Gareth Bale announced on Monday, January 9, on social networks, which he ended his career. Passed by Tottenham and Real Madrid, he also carried his national selection to the semi-finals of Euro 2016.

Present in Qatar at the 2022 World Cup, he became, despite elimination in the group phase, the most capped player in the history of his selection for which he wore the jersey 111 times, scored 40 goals and distributed 22 assists.

Fans of the round ball remember his victorious acrobatic return against Liverpool in the 2018 Champions League final. But despite his sumptuous goals and the myriad of titles won with Real Madrid, everything was not Rose at the Merengue for Gareth Bale.
