Nuts, pensions, insecurity, Europe, ecology … For two hours, Friday January 6, Olivier Faure, Hélène Geoffroy and Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol confronted their positions on franceinfo TV. The three candidates for the post of first secretary of the Socialist Party (PS) confirmed that they had only one fundamental disagreement, the attitude to adopt in the face of the new Ecological and Social People’s Union (Nuts), and especially Jean-Luc Mélenchon, object of their discord.

Signatory of the Nuts, Olivier Faure did not hesitate to attack the main weak point of Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol, blurred on the alliance on the left. The mayor of Rouen described as “drum” this “past electoral agreement”, just after being favorable to “the Union of the left”. “I do not know how we can be inside and outside,” retorted with irony Olivier Faure, accusing him of making “the lesson” with his “at the same time”, allusion to the favorite formula of Emmanuel Macron.

clearer, Hélène Geoffroy confirmed that she would come out of the cloud, including the intergroup in the National Assembly. “Jean-Luc Mélenchon theorizes noise and fury, and the contribution of the voices of the national rally,” she justified, arousing the anger of Olivier Faure. “You cannot say that your colleagues were able to compromise with the extreme right,” prevailing the first secretary. “I do not accuse the collusion PS. But it is France Insoumise [LFI] which sets the tone,” insisted the mayor of Vaulx-en-Velin.

retirement at 60 … or 62 years 2>

Another subject of divisions, pensions. Olivier Faure claimed a return to retirement at “60 years”, but with a full rate after 43 annuities. A balancingist position for the deputy, historically favorable to retirement at 62 years old, but who has signed since the agreement of the Nuts, which advocates retirement at 60 years after 40 annuities. “What is heard [by citizens] is Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s line, with retirement at 60,” recalled him, Acerbian, Hélène Geoffroy, favorable to the maintenance of the legal age at 62 years old , like Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol.

On the other hand, Olivier Faure did not procrastinate on the reintegration of non -vaccinated caregivers, a bill that LFI tried to bring to the National Assembly before Christmas. It would be “no,” he said, like his two comrades. Increase in the minimum wage to 1,600 euros, assistance to Ukraine, immigration, fight against insecurity: the trio has been generally aligned with these big questions. “The three of us are socialist,” said Olivier Faure.
