In the basement of Latin paradise, in the lair of seamstresses, it is teeming. The shelves overflow with fabrics and the bearers plug under the weight of the 380 costumes created for the occasion. Pieces of shimmering fabrics are arranged here and there on a mannequin, the beginnings of a costume by Joséphine Baker. The regular purr of a sewing machine accompanies the small team of women who stings, comes out and readjusts. The outfits of the 25 actors must be ready for December 14 and the first first in my first cabaret. A show for young audiences (from 5 years old), a real UFO in the world of music hall.

The establishment, located in Paris, in the 5 e arrondissement, hopes to attract 50,000 to 80,000 people over the next 100 performances in order to make the investment profitable, which amounts to around 5 million euros. “It is a gamble that we make on the future by giving the taste of the cabaret from an early age, so that this audience comes back later if he loves and he himself transmits his passion for cabaret to his children, “said Walter Butler, the Franco-Brazilian businessman owned Latin paradise.

At the origin of this show, there is the “wacky idea” of the former emblematic dance teacher of the “Star Academy”, the choreographer and director Kamel Ouali. After having set up his own musicals, the Sun King but also Cleopatra, he joined Latin paradise in 2018 and created the evening show L’Oiseau Paradis. Big scarf around his neck, an attentive eye on rehearsals, he gets carried away on his last find: “It is a world first, the offer for a family audience was non -existent! I took codes that Kids like, like fairies and heroes, but also successful music on social networks. I go in their direction to make them discover the cabaret in small touches. “

The twenty show paintings retraces the life of Roxy, a rascal owner of the cabaret, and paradise, a sweet leader of which Léo, a young sleepwalker, will fall in love. The representation mixes dance, song, circus, sketches, magic and special effects. All for an average ticket of 60 euros per person, with a snack. The actors who follow one another are all around 20 years old and mostly take their first steps on stage.
