One in four French people say they are in a precarious situation, according to a study by Secours Populaire

Families are particularly affected: 75 % of French parents deprived themselves of leisure; and 42 %, food to “offer good living conditions” to their children.

In total, 27 % of those questioned declare that they are in a precarious situation. In detail, 51 % of Greeks consider themselves weakened, against 24 % of French people and 18 % of Germans.

“With the surge of prices, the energy crisis and the consequences of the war in Ukraine, for many Europeans the living conditions deteriorated in 2022”, underlines the Secours Populaire, which supported nearly 3 , 5 million people in difficulty last year in France. More than one in two European (54 %) thus feels the decrease in its purchasing power and the rise in prices-the French are 63 %.

“A situation all the more hard as it succeeds two years when the standard of living had been marked by the shock of the health crisis,” added the association. Two out of three Europeans declare that they no longer know what expenses make compromises (64 %) – the Greeks are 88 %; Poles, 62 %.

Persons surveyed are not optimistic about their future. According to the study, more than one in two European fears is feared in precariousness (55 %) – anxiety is less present for the French, but it remains very important (42 %).

Particularly affected families

Families are above all affected by precariousness and the rise in prices: almost one in two parent has already given up on the departure of their child on vacation or his registration for extra -curricular activity, and 33 % say that They are not always able to give their child a varied diet.
