Kinshasa announced on Saturday the expulsion of the Rwanda ambassador in the DRC, while the fights against the M23 rebellion (March 23) are intensifying in the east of the DRC, which Kinshasa accuses Rwanda to support.

This decision has occurred at the end of a meeting of the DRC Superior Defense Council, chaired by Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi, who reported “a massive arrival of elements of the Rwandan army” To support the M23 “for a general offensive against the positions of the” Congolese armed forces “.

The revival of tension in eastern DRC also led the UN mission to the DRC (Monusco) to “note the alert level” of its troops in support of the Congolese armed forces in their operations against M23.
