Toyota Admits Mistakes, Clears Hackers

The temporary suspension of the work of all 14 factories of the Toyota Motor automobile giant in Japan on August 29 was not due to cyber attacks, according to an official report published on the company’s website.

The report states that the root cause of the problem was a lack of disk space on the servers responsible for coordinating production processes in the factories. The issue was resolved by transferring data to a server with larger memory capacity.

In light of this incident, Toyota’s leadership has issued an apology to its customers. The company also plans to review its maintenance procedures and strengthen measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
