Nate Graham, a developer engaged in quality control in the KDE project, published the latest report on the development of KDE. The development of the KDE Plasma 6.4 branch, with a planned release date of June 17, has reached the soft freeze stage, where changes are limited to implementing new features.
Among the recent changes in KDE Frameworks 6.16:
- The design of typical dialogs “New File” and “New Folder” used in Dolphin on the desktop and in various applications has been updated. Users can now assign their own icon catalog.
- Added protection against interruption of file transfer by entering sleep mode, which is now blocked until the operation is completed.
- The mechanism for drawing the icons of the Kirigami framework in KDE Plasma and QtQuick applications has been improved to address issues in dark design mode.
- Thumbnail display for files on external servers requested via URL has been enhanced.
Improvements in KDE Plasma 6.4:
- The volume control widget now shows the name of the content being played in applications that provide metadata.
