Hackers have reportedly leaked internal data belonging to software developer, Acronis. According to the telegram channel In2SecURITY, the hackers published a data array, which contained various certificates, command magazines, system configurations, magazines of system information, archives of the file system, a Python script for the Maria.db database backup configuration, and many snapshots of backup operations.
If the leak is confirmed to be genuine, the reputational and security risks for Acronis could be severe. The company specializes in data protection, backup, and restoration of virtual, physical, and cloud media.
This breach is the latest in a series of high-profile cybersecurity attacks targeting businesses, governments, and other organizations around the world. It highlights the pressing need for robust security measures to protect against increasingly sophisticated threats.
