“Experienced burglars” from abroad, followers of Raids Express, in viewfinder of authorities

The gendarmes and the Parisian judicial police note an upward trend of ultra-mobile teams, who came to make burglaries in record times.

Barely time to see the burglary that they have already left hundreds, even thousands of kilometers. Botin sold, missing thieves. These ultra-mobile bands playing bordering is the daily life of the traveling delinquency repression group of the Brigade of Banditry (BRB) of the Parisian Judicial Police.

A few days ago, the investigators got their hands on Chileans who targeted upscale houses around golf courses, almost everywhere in France. Followers of the express raids, sometimes traveling several hundred kilometers in one night to rob the maximum of villas in a minimum of time, before vanishing.

“They use everything that allows you to cross borders faster than the police,” said a BRB official, who wishes to remain anonymous. No need to look for very sophisticated tools: in this case, the loot was notably hidden in the clothing lining sent directly to South America, in UPS or Mondial Relay packages. Among the arrested, two were under the mandates for homicide in their country. “They come to get green here and get to the breakdown.”

a simple ploy

Another case, a week earlier. This time, it was a group of Eastern Europe that was arrested: four men of Romanian nationality, between 30 and 50 years old, were caught in the act, on the night of February 13 to 14, by train to empty the boxes of a warehouse in the 12 e arrondissement of Paris. The culmination of several months of investigation, in cooperation with the gendarmes of the Central Office for the fight against traveling delinquency (OCLDI) and Europol.

The ploy is simple: thieves legally praise a box from abroad and therefore have access to part of the warehouse when they arrive. Little happiness luck, they then fracture the neighboring locks, enter the boxes and use each other. “This is the lottery”, concedes the head of the group concerned of the BRB (which did not want its identity either to be given), but between a grandmother’s table service and some furniture in kit piled up by Individuals between two apartments, they also come across stocks of traders or entrepreneurs storage materials and tools for their sites. Result for this only small team: ten warehouses visited in the Paris, Bordeaux and Niçoise region, dozens of fractured boxes and 500,000 euros in luxury bags and clothing, perfumes, computer equipment …
