Pension reform: government again arrested on 1,200 euros in minimum pension

According to the deputy PS Jérôme Guedj, who wrote to the Minister of Labor to have the data on the beneficiaries of revaluation, nothing proves that 40,000 people will receive the 1,200 euros promised by the reform.

The government is once again challenged by the opposition about the boost granted to small pensions. After the declarations of the Minister of Labor, Olivier Dussopt, according to which 40,000 future retirees will benefit, each year, from the minimum of 1,200 euros provided for by the reform, this figure continues to be questioned by Jérôme Guedj, deputy of the Socialist Party (PS) of Essonne and co -president of the social security assessment and control mission. The parliamentarian sent a letter on Friday, February 17, to Mr. Dussopt to ask him for details: “What a service sent you this figure, on what date and, failing this, how did you build it, on the basis of What data? “He asked.

The elected official’s approach is part of the controversy that has been raging, for several weeks, regarding the increase in the minimum pension. The executive has undertaken to improve, under certain conditions, small pensions through an increase of up to 100 euros per month, the goal being to bring them to 85 % of the net minimum wage – which will correspond at around 1,200 euros gross at the end of the summer.

Throughout the debates at the Palais-Bourbon on the reform project, which ended on Friday, February 17, at midnight, opposition deputies demanded that transparency be made on the number of people likely to touch this amount. Wednesday, February 15, on France Inter, Mr. Dussopt, claimed that among future retirees, there will be 40,000 who will pass, each year, “the CAP of 85 % of the minimum wage”, due to the measures taken. He added that 250,000 individuals, already retirement, will know the same fate.

But Mr. Guedj remained hungry. This is why he took an initiative that caught attention: as co -president of the social security assessment and control mission, he went to the Social Security Department Thursday morning (DSS) – One of the ministerial administrations responsible for preparing the text – in order to obtain clarifications. An “unexpected visit” that he made with his colleague Cyrille Isaac-Sibille, Democrat deputy of the Rhône and co-president of this same assessment mission.

Based on the elements communicated by the DSS, Mr. Guedj apostrophe Mr. Dussopt, Thursday afternoon, during the discussion on the reform in the National Assembly. State services are “not at the origin” of the estimate relating to the 40,000 future beneficiaries of the 1,200 euros and “do not know themselves” where it comes from, said the parliamentarian PS . This was followed by a vigorous exchange between him and the Minister of Labor. The latter maintained his explanations delivered to France Inter.
