Rodolphe Belmer, new CEO of TF1, defends his chain in front of Arcom

Harred by the College of the Audiovisual Regulatory Authority, the Directorate of the UN has advocated “continuity”, Wednesday February 15.

A big jump on the occasion of an important day for the French audiovisual, but clearly not a jump to the unknown. It was before the authority for the regulation of audiovisual and digital communication (Arcom, ex-CSA) that Rodolphe Belmer made his first public speaking as a new CEO of TF1, Wednesday, February 15. The stake was quite limited to the front page insofar as the chain is the only candidate for the first frequency. Nevertheless, the exercise remained unprecedented since 1987, the year of privatization.

alongside several members of the management of the TF1 group, the former managing director of Canal+ defended, for a little more than eighty minutes, the renewal of the frequency from May 6, for the next ten years. Mr. Belmer argued his wish for “continuity” to continue a “unifying” project around sport, information, entertainment and fictions. No editorial big bang on the horizon, therefore, but the desire to press the main lines of the chain.
