“I would like to go back to childhood. They were real friends and it was not altered by money.” From the Box of the Assize Court of Bouches-du-Rhône, the confidence of Christopher Aouni, 37, contrasts with the role that the accusation lends him a henchman of Marseille narcobanditis and probable record holder of French prisoners for the number of deposit mandates for assassination and attempts, five in total.

This man who speaks to the jurors of the first steps of his daughter in the parlor of a prison, is, in the eyes of the general lawyer, the cold and determined killer who executed two Kalashnikov shots at the end Bearing a card player, in March 2018, in the associative room of the Cité Consolat, in the northern districts of Marseille. Christophe Raffin required, Friday, February 3, 30 years in criminal imprisonment with a safety measure of 20 years against Christopher Aouni.

During the trial, where the accused denied the facts, fear quickly invaded the debates. Fear of the hearing invoked by Saci Labidi’s brother, the victim of this execution, who did not appear, deserting the bench of the civil parties occupied only by the women of the family. This young boxer had reported that one week before his death, his big brother had told him “guys from Marignane [commune of Bouches-du-Rhône] who take up the drug networks” in the Marseille cities. Saci Labidi, bodybuilder and respected figure of Consolat, hampered the installation of the network, according to the Advocate General, and “did the police a little to tell the dealers to go elsewhere”.

Fear of reprisals, too, for the brothers of Christopher Aouni because, to hear him, his opponents “want to attack [s] a family for [l] ”. This first trial of an accused that a long legal journey awaits – soon tried for a double assassination and indicted for two others – immersed jurors in the bloody world of narcobanditism.

violent intestine struggles

The scene is freezing. When he entered the courtroom to deposit as a witness, an inmate extracted from his cell shot the accused from the gaze. In September 2018, during a chase on the highway, it was with real bullets that the two men had opposed. Hatred is palpable while they were friends, members of the same marignane band, described by investigators as one of the most powerful teams of narcobanditism having taken foot in several big points of sale from Marseille.
