Rescue teams had started research on Friday, but had to suspend them on Saturday evening, due to the state of the trails and the risk of avalanche. “However, we continue to carry out research by helicopter and using drones when the weather conditions allow it,” said the spokesperson. “We will launch new ground research when the weather improves and when the safety of our teams on the ground will be ensured,” she added.

In recent weeks, the emergency services have had to carry out a dozen rescues in the region. At least two people died, including a woman who fell more than 200 meters after slipping on a frozen path.
