The release of the project FluxCast v0.2.6 has taken place, designed for organizing streaming of the Linux desktop to Smart TV screens using Wi-Fi Direct (Miracast) protocols, DLNA and Chromecast with minimal latency. The source code of the project is written in Python and distributed under the GPLv3 license.
The key change in version 0.2.6 was the appearance of official .deb packages for the Debian 12/13 and Ubuntu 24.04/26.04 distributions (previously, users had to install the utility via pip and manually execute privileged scripts to configure D-Bus policies). Improved compatibility with composite servers based on the Wayland protocol, such as Hyprland and Sway, as well as KDE and GNOME desktop environments. Implemented automatic adjustment of the system tray interface to the system locale (Russian, English, Czech and other languages are supported).
