Wine 11.14 and Wine-Staging 11.14 Released

Published experimental release of an open implementation of the Win32 API – Wine 11.14. Since the release of 11.14, 21 bug reports have been closed and 178 changes have been made.

The most important changes:

  • For the FreeBSD platform, support for the WoW64 layer (64-bit Windows-on-Windows) has been implemented, allowing 32-bit Windows applications to run on 64-bit Unix systems.
  • The DirectSound API now supports 7.1 surround sound conversion.
  • The BCrypt library has added support for the AES-GMAC algorithm.
  • Icons have been shown next to items in the start menu.



  • Closed error reports related to the operation of applications: Microsoft Office Word 2016, Adobe Reader 9/11, Falcon BMS 4.37, nProtect Anti-Virus/Spyware 4.0, TaxAct 2025, PCSX2.
  • Bug reports related to the operation of games are closed: Heroes of the Storm, Hedgewars 1.0.0, 3impact, Xdefiant Beta, Amazing Adventures 2, Marble Marcher Community Edition, Age of Empires I/II.
