Miracle-wm 0.10 Launches: Wayland, Mir Composite Manager

Published release of miracle-wm 0.10

A new release of the composite manager miracle-wm 0.10 has been published. This release utilizes the Wayland protocol and components from Mir for building composite managers. Miracle-wm supports tiling window layouts similar to i3 and Sway projects, and Waybar can be used as a panel. Written in C++, the project code is distributed under the GPLv3 license. Ready-made assemblies are available in snap format, as well as rpm and deb packages for Fedora and Ubuntu.

The goal of miracle-wm is to create a composite server with tiling window management that is more functional and stylish than products like Swayfx. The project also allows for the use of classic techniques for working with floating windows. Virtual desktops are supported with customizable default window modes for each desktop.

Users who prefer a tiled layout with visual effects and brighter graphics may find miracle-wm useful. Configuration is defined in the YAML format. To install miracle-wm, the command “sudo snap install miracle-wm –classic” can be used.
