VirtualBox 7.2.10 Release

Oracle has published a corrective release of the virtualization system VirtualBox 7.2.10, which introduces 14 changes:

  • In additions for guest systems and host environments with Linux, initial support for the Linux 7.1 kernel has been added, additional fixes for the RHEL 9.8 distribution have been included, and a crash when building kernel modules in openSUSE 16.0 has been fixed. Added support for building source code using NASM assembler instead of YASM.
  • Additions for Linux host environments have resolved an issue that prevented virtual machines from starting due to kernel glitches.
  • Additions for Linux guests have added initial support for the Extended Data Control protocol for clipboard access in KDE Plasma guests running Waland. The assembly of the vboxvideo module has been improved when using kernels 7.0 and 7.1.
  • Fixed a failure to boot virtual machines with CentOS 10 with a message about the lack of support for the x86-64-v3 subarchitecture in the CPU.
  • Fixed problems with loading virtual machines on ARM systems that are assigned less than 1024 MiB of RAM.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the device to VIRTIO-SCSI was not recognized as an SSD in the guest.
  • Resolved issues in the E1000 network adapter emulation code that prevented OS/2 from loading in the guest.
  • Additions for OS/2 guests fixed issues with automatic mounting of shared directories and clipboard not working.
