The US government has implemented new restrictions that prevent people in Russia from accessing certain software products and services. In response to these restrictions, Notion has announced that starting from September 9, 2024, users located in Russia will no longer be able to utilize its platform.
As part of these measures, all Notion working spaces identified as being in Russia will be shut down, and access to the company’s services will be blocked for users in the country. Users in Russia will have until September 8, 2024, to maintain access to their working spaces and export their data. After September 9, 2024, these workspaces and accounts will become unavailable, and data restoration will not be possible.
Even users who are not physically in Russia but have colleagues or employees in the country will also face restrictions, with access to Notion services likely to be blocked. Corporate clients are advised to reach out to sales managers for further clarification on how these sanctions will impact their working spaces.
Furthermore, Notion has confirmed that paid subscriptions will be terminated on September 9, 2024, and no charges for Notion services will be incurred after this date.
