Mozilla Launches Nightfox Night Assemblies for ARM64 Linux

Developers from Mozilla announced the publication of official binary DEB packets and installation TAR archives, allowing you to install Firefox Nightly assemblies in Linux distributions with ARM64 architecture. Packages can be obtained through the traditional loading page and from a specialized Apt-response created for Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and other Debian-like distributions. After implementing automated testing of ARM64 assemblies in the continuous integration system, the plan is to start publishing such assemblies for beta versions and releases.

Recent changes proposed in Firefox Nightly assemblies include the opportunity to determine custom color themes for the reader mode (Reader View). This can be enabled through the Reader.colors_menu.enabled parameter in ABOUT:config.

  • Optimization of the Memory Selection systems of Mozjemalloc memory has allowed for a 3.5-5% acceleration in the Speedometer 2 and Speedometer 3 tests after implementing new code while maintaining memory consumption at the same level.
  • Support for Search Config V2 has been added to change search engine settings.
  • Launch time reduced by at least 3%.
