EC Threatens Fines on Tech Giants for DMA Violations

The European Commission has announced the commencement of investigations into some of the largest technological companies including Alphabet (Google’s parent company), Apple, Meta, and Amazon. The probe is based on suspicions of potential violations of the Digital Markets Act (DMA).

The scrutiny is primarily centered around the rules set by Alphabet and Apple for app developers, particularly concerning the ability to steer users towards third-party products.

It is worth noting that META and its products have been deemed extremist, leading to their activities being prohibited in the Russian Federation.
