American Army Showcases Robo-dogs, Drones, and AI in Tank Demo

During the past month, the American military has been engaging in exercises across various locations in California, with the objective of preparing for future warfare.

Recently published photos and videos showcase a range of advanced technologies, including subferential drones for cargo transportation and a vehicle operated by artificial intelligence. One remarkable highlight was an eight-wheeled, fully electric robot armed with potent firepower.

The US Army’s Future Command conducted a demonstration of integrated man and machine operations at the Fort Irvin military base in California. The event saw the participation of top military leaders and representatives from allied nations such as Great Britain, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, France, and Japan.

These exercises, part of the annual Project Convergence Capstone 4 demonstration, went beyond showcasing the US Army’s capabilities to an international audience. Allies also presented their own futuristic robots that could have been plucked from the pages of science fiction.

The imagery released by the US Armed Forces serves as a stark reminder that a version of the future depicted in movies like “Terminator” – with autonomous ground vehicles armed with advanced weaponry – may be closer than previously imagined. In many ways, this future is already here, even if these exercises are officially labeled as “experiments.”
