Solus 4.5, a Linux distribution, has been released. Previously, the dialogue developed desktop budgie, but now it is allocated as an independent project. The next Solus 5 branch will be developed using the technology of the Serpentos distribution. The project’s code is distributed under the GPLV2 license, and the languages ​​of SI and VALA are used for development. The distribution provides building options with BUDGIE, GNOME, KDE Plasma, and XFCE. The ISO-images have a size of 2.7 GB (x86_64).

The package manager used in Solus 4.5 is eopkg, a fork of pisi from Pardus Linux. It allows users to control packets, providing familiar means for installing/removing packages, searching in the repository, and repository management. Packages are categorized into thematic components and subcategories.
