Extortionists Blackmail Patients After Hospital Cyber Attack

Integris Health patients in Oklahoma have received electronic letters containing blackmail, stating that their data has been stolen in a series of cyber attacks on a network of medical facilities. The blackmailers threaten to sell the data to other cybercriminals if a ransom is not paid.

Integris Health is the largest non-profit network of medical facilities in the state of Oklahoma, USA. It includes hospitals, clinics, and emergency centers throughout the state.

Integris Health has confirmed that in November, certain systems within the company were hacked, resulting in the theft of patient data.

Upon discovering the suspicious activity, Integris Health took immediate measures to ensure the safety of its systems and initiated an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the cyber attacks.

In emails sent to patients on December 24, the hackers claim to have stolen personal data from over 2 million patients as a result of cyber attacks on Integris Health.
