War in Ukraine: kyiv’s forces entered Lyman

“The Ukrainian flag floats on Lyman”, announced President Zelensky, while specifying that the fighting continued in this strategic city in the east of the country. Russia claimed to have withdrawn its troops.

The Ukrainian army entered on Saturday 1 er October, in Lyman, a strategic city in eastern Ukraine, in the Donetsk region. “The Ukrainian flag is already floating on Lyman,” confirmed, on Saturday evening, the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, in his daily speech.

Under control of Moscow since the end of May, Lyman is an important rail node, which notably allowed the refueling of Russian troops.

“The fighting continues but there is no trace of any pseudo-reprehentum there,” continued Volodymyr Zelensky in reference to the annexation referendums of four Ukrainian regions, including that of Donetsk, carried out by Russia this week and firmly condemned by kyiv and the Westerners.
