Kurt Zouma condemned to work of general interest for mistreatment on his cat

The French footballer had already been sanctioned by his West Ham club for having mistreated his animal in a video published on February 6 on Snapchat.

French international defender Kurt Zouma was sentenced on Wednesday 1 er June by British justice to 180 hours of general interest for having mistreated his cat. The 27 -year -old West Ham player, who had pleaded guilty, was also prohibited by the Thames Magistrates court in eastern London from having a cat for five years. J. During the appearance of Kurt Zouma before the court on May 24, the prosecutor, Hazel Stevens, had indicated that the images had been taken after damage committed by cats which would have damaged a chair. She had noted that there had been since their publication “an upsurge in people hitting cats and publishing images on various social networks”.

The two cats of the player have since been entrusted to the RSPCA animal protection company, which had launched a procedure so that Kurt and Yoan Zouma were continued under the legislation for the protection of animal welfare.

The London club had not suspended his player and even made him participate in a match on the evening of the revelation of the case, causing a huge wave of protests. West Ham assured that, according to the information available to the club, cats had “undergone any physical injury”. The club then revealed that the financial sanction imposed on the player had been donated to animal protection associations.
