The idea of putting your money at the service of others currently arouses a strong enthusiasm from individuals. As proof, the solidarity booklets totaled 3.26 billion euros in outstanding at the end of 2020, an increase of more 25 % over a year, according to the Fair association (the figures of 2021 should be known in June) . Enough to allow “certain savers to (…) manage a savings available at any time by carrying out a citizen act”, as Jon Sallé, head of the social impact Observatory at Fair (ex-funds) specifies.

These products are most often based on a donation mechanism, “the saver renouncing all or part of his annual interests for the benefit of an association,” he adds. But there are also booklets without mechanism of generosity whose purpose is to finance the social and solidarity economy through loans to specialized structures.

Besides, since 1 er October 2020, holders of a sustainable and united development booklet (LDDS) also have the possibility of making a donation to the actors of the social economy and Solidarity (ESS).

Concretely, they can donate all or part of the product of the interests or capital accumulated on their booklet to one or more actors in the world of the social and solidarity economy, selected by the collecting banking establishments of the LDDS, from A list produced by the National Council of Regional Chambers of the Social and Solidarity Economy (CRESS).

According to the latest report of the regulated savings observatory, to date, more than 24 million French people have a LDDS, bringing 1 % net per year, at no cost, taxes or social security contributions. However, for savers wishing to give more meaning to the management of their cash flow, the alternative is to turn to “united savings booklets, labeled Finansol, which make it possible to combine generosity, signs of donations and transparency”, adds Jon Sallé.

an increasingly wide choice

The principle of these booklets is generally based on the donation of part of the interests generated annually, with the key a significant tax advantage for highly imposed taxpayers. Indeed, the saver benefits from a reduction in income tax equal to 66 % or 75 % (depending on the beneficiary association) of the donation made.

To make your choice, we can for example turn to the heavy goods vehicle: the AGI booklet offered by Crédit Coopératif, which displays nearly 916 million euros in outstanding at the end of 2021. Without ceiling of Payment, “it is paid at 0.6 % annual gross up to 15,300 euros, half of which is donated to one of the partner associations, chosen by the Customer,” said Imad Tabet, director of the Credit Market cooperative. A rate much higher than that of conventional banking booklets, close to the level of 0.10 % per year, before taxation, according to the latest figures published by the Banque de France.
