SentrySafe Vulnerability Allows Opening with Flipper Zero

A security researcher, Pavel Zhovner, has successfully demonstrated a method to hack certain electronic safes from SentrySafe using the Flipper Zero device and exploiting a vulnerability in the controller.

In a detailed video, Zhovner showcases the reverse engineering process involved in understanding how the safe operates by using a solenoid to lock/unlock the door mechanism. The video also explains how data is transmitted through the UART protocol from the PIN code input to the main controller of the safe.

The CentrySafe application, created by the developer community specifically for Flipper Zero, is utilized to automate the hacking process. By taking advantage of the vulnerability, the application enables users to set a new PIN code, ultimately unlocking the safe.
