Vaccinal pass: National Assembly adopts second reading bill

MPs voted, unsurprisingly, the controversial text transforming the vaccineal passes at the end of a night of debate that will continue in a few hours in the Senate.

Back to the National Assembly, the text on the vaccinal pass was adopted on the night Friday 14 to Saturday, January 15, at 4 o’clock in the morning. After a passage to the Senate where the text had been significantly modified, and new bitter discussions at Bourbon Palace, MPs validated the bill strengthening the tools for managing the sanitary crisis with 185 votes for, and 69 against. / p>

The discussions were fed about the controls that the restaurateurs can perform to verify the concordance between the vaccination pass and the identity of the person. The text also provides hardening of sanctions in case of fraud. Present a false pass may be punished by 5 years’ imprisonment and € 75,000.

A definite adoption expected Sunday

The text will come back to the senators on Saturday. The majority hopes its final adoption on Sunday, and an implementation over the next week, Adrien Tag, Secretary of State for Child Protection.

Once the bill is definitely adopted by Parliament, it will be necessary to justify, above the age of 16, a vaccine status to access leisure activities, restaurants and bars, fairs or transportation interregional public. A negative test will no longer suffice except to access institutions and health services.

Some parliamentary groups reported that they would seize the Constitutional Council.
