Authorities of Slovakia introduced restrictions against background of spread of Covid-19

The Government of Slovakia introduced restrictive measures due to the increase in the incidence of Oomikron-strain, transfers Interfax.

The authorities were forbidden to attend public events and sports facilities without a booster dose of vaccinations or complete revaccination. In addition, citizens obliged to confirm with medical certificates transferred coronavirus disease, and to take a PCR test to each event.

Public dishes and bars due to restrictive measures are now closed at 22:00. The government believes that restrictions will be able to keep the dissemination of an Omicron strain, which, according to forecasts of local doctors, will become dominant in the country by the end of January.

On January 19, British scientists stated that the risk of re-infection by Omicron-strain COVID-19 is 16 times higher than Delta-strain. In citizens infected with oomikron, the loss of taste and sense of smell was observed much less frequently compared with other virus options.

Earlier, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros, Adan Hebresus, estimated the likelihood of the emergence of new strains of COVID-19. According to him, the global pandemic is far from completion. The head of WHO stressed that in the conditions of the rapid spread of Oomikron there is a possibility of the emergence of new infection options.
