Lavrov explained Russia’s friends in Latin America

The number of Russian friends among Latin American countries is growing. This was announced by the Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, speaking at the government hour during the plenary session of the State Duma. It quotes TASS.

“We really have very close, good, long-standing relations with Latin American countries, not only with Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela, although they are probably our nearest partners and friends,” said Russian minister. He also noted that Russia traditionally retains friendly relations with the countries of Latin America.

Previously, the spokesman for the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that in the framework of the telephone conversation of Russian presidents and Cuba Vladimir Putin and Miguel Diaz Cannel Bermudes did not discussed the placement of Russian military bases in the Cuban territory.
