NATO has come to negotiate with Russia in Ukraine

Most of the proposals of Russia on security guarantees in Europe are impossible, but NATO still resigned to the need to negotiate with the Kremlin. This is stated by Financial Times with reference to officials in the North Atlantic Alliance.

The publication says that Western officials in private stated that they reject almost all the points of the Russian initiative as incredible, not credible and contradict agreements concluded after the end of the Cold War. According to them, Russia’s proposals violate the right of countries to sovereign defense policy.

At the same time, NATO officials declared the potential worsening of the diplomatic situation, in case of refusal of Russian proposals.
