More than 20,000 people blocked in Morocco have been repatriated to France

Rabat decided on November 25, before the appearance of the new Omicron variant, to suspend “until new order” regular flights to and from France because of the resurgence of the epidemic. Special flights, subject to the authorization of the Moroccan authorities, were organized for persons who could not have returned to France.

First economic partner of Morocco

Air France and Transavia companies have set up special flights from Morocco since Friday, and the Royal Air Maroc (RAM) company has scheduled it to France from Tuesday, November 30 and until on December 6th. France is by far the first economic partner of Morocco: more than 1.3 million Moroccans live in France and nearly 80,000 French resident in Morocco.

In addition, the Low Cost Tui Fly airline announced that it would operate eighteen special flights between the 1 and December 5 to repatriate some 2,377 Belgian tourists still stuck on Moroccan territory, according to a statement.

Since Monday midnight, all the direct flights of passengers to Morocco are suspended for two weeks, “to preserve the achievements of Morocco in the fight against the pandemic”.
