India: military mistakenly shot civilians

In the course of a military operation in the Indian state, the Nagaland died at least 13 civilians and one representative of the security forces due to the fact that the residents of the Othing village mistaken for the rebels. It is reported by the NDTV TV channel.

It is reported that the military, having learned about the possible movement of militants in the area of ​​Mont, who borders with Myanmar, arranged an ambush at the village of Othing. However, for the rebels mistakenly, residents of the village were accepted – as a result, the peaceful Indians who returned to the village by car were opened.

According to sources in the police, other residents of the village arose to defend the fellow villagers and attacked the military. It is noted that the security forces began to shoot in the crowd for the purposes of “self-defense”, thus wounding at least seven more people.

Internal Affairs Minister of India Amit Shah expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and called for a thorough investigation of the incident.

Earlier in December in the United States in the city of Atlanta (Georgia), an unknown car opened a shooting in people, at least four people died. Law enforcement officers shot a suspect, one of the employees was killed.
