Rise in prices in France turned out to be a record for 13 years

Consumer prices in France, harmonized with the standards of the European Union, in November rose by 3.4 percent in annual terms. It turned out to be a record for 13 years by an indicator, the data of the National Statistical Control of InSee.

Inflation rates accelerated, in October, the rise in prices was 3.2 percent. In November, consumer prices, according to French standards, rose by 0.4 percent per month and 2.8 percent per year. There was sharp energy prices (by 21.6 percent in annual terms after growth by 20.2 percent a month earlier), as well as industrial goods (0.8 percent) and services (1.9 percent).

Earlier it was reported that inflation in Sweden in annual terms at the end of November reached 3.6 percent and became recorded for 28 years – from December 1993. The main factor in the acceleration of annual inflation was the rise in fuel prices (the rise in price for the year by 34.8 percent) and electricity (plus 29.1 percent).

The US Department of Labor on October 10 reported on record inflation for 39 years over a year 6.8 percent. Since November 2020, gasoline has risen in price by 58.1 percent, energy prices rose by 33.3 percent, used cars and trucks – by 31.4 percent.
