Most expensive in world’s assembly of art sold for 676 million dollars

Sotheby’s Auction House sold the world’s most expensive collection of art for hundreds of millions of dollars. The relevant information appeared on the company’s website.

It was reported that the meeting belonged to New York billionaires Harry and Linda Macklowe (Harry and Linda Macklowe). Bidding took place on November 15 in New York. Buyers’ names are not disclosed. It is known that participants of the auction acquired various works of art, including: paintings, dishes, sculptures and photos.

According to the material, a total of 676.1 million dollars (49 billion rubles), which is an absolute record for a single assembly. The total amount exceeded the initial assessment, which ranged from 439.4 to 618.9 million dollars.

It is noted that two works were most expensive, namely, the picture of the American abstractionist Mark Rotko

“Number 7” and the sculpture of the Swiss artist Alberto Dzhacometty “Nose”. Their cost amounted to 82.5 and 78.4 million dollars (5.9 and 5.6 billion rubles), respectively.

The prototype of Nike Air Yeezy 1 sneakers, the design of which was developed by a hip-hop performer, together with Designer Mark Smith (Mark Smith) for the Nike brand in 2007, bought out 1.8 million dollars (135 million rubles).
