Belarus: answered by Biden’s statement on situation with migrants on border

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergey Aleinik accused Washington in Double Standards in connection with the statement by US President Joe Bayden on the Migration Crisis in the Belarusian-Polish border. He stated this on the air Youtube channel “Main. Tour”.

According to him, the United States is once again one-sided and selectively assessed by the events occurring in the country. The Belarusian diplomat noted that Washington once again tries to pour oil into the migration situation on the border of the two countries. At the same time, he stressed that the problem of migration is global, and Belarus has never been a source or cause of migration flows.

In addition, Aleinik added that “concern”, which Biden expressed, should concern Poland, Lithuania and other European countries and speak out about their inaction in the situation with refugees, violation of international obligations and the lack of efforts to resolve the crisis.

Biden said earlier that the US authorities brought their concern about the situation with migrants on the Belarusian-Polish borders to Minsk and Moscow. The head of state commented on the situation and answered the question as he assesses the problem with migrants on the border of Belarus. “It inspires great concern. We have passed Russia that are concerned. We also passed Belarus, which is concerned,” said the American leader.

Since the beginning of 2021, people began to flow to the border of Belarus with Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. The crisis sharply aggravated on November 8, after several thousand people approached the border of Poland from the Belarusian side. They do not leave the border zone, part tried on November 10 to get to the territory of Poland, breaking the barbed barbed wire.

The European Union blamed Minsk in the escalation of conflict. The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said that the country calmly opposes the current circumstances and does not go away.
