Russia called on UN to abandon double standards for Sudan

The diplomat stressed that Moscow tracks events and calls to avoid escalation, and also constructively interacts with Sat. “We did not agree with the interpretation of the last events as a coup and called on partners in the Security Council to adhere to the agreed approach regarding events in Sudan, in other parts of the world and do not apply double standards,” it indicated.

Polesky added that events in the country occurred due to the inability of the authorities to deal with numerous problems and attempts to find solutions from outside. He called on the Sudanese authorities to be guided by national interests, to show restraint and avoid actions and appeals capable of leading to confrontation. The first depositor has expressed the hope that the situation will soon return to the constitutional framework.

On October 25, the military from the Sovereign Council were arrested by Prime Minister Sudan Abdalla Humduka.
