Putin called on Gazprom to help Europe

Russian President Vladimir Putin called on Gazprom to help Europe. The head of state requested the Supplier to increase the volume of gas in European storage facilities. Putin made the appropriate statement at a meeting on the resource potential of Yamal, TASS reports.

Gazprom should begin scheduled work on supplies to Europe after gas injection into underground storage facilities in Russia. According to the president, additional fuel volumes stabilize prices on the European Energy Engineering. The head of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, said that the company will finish the gas injection into Russian underground storage facilities by November 8.

At the meeting, Putin also noted that Russia filled the lack of American gas in Europe even in large volumes than it was necessary. At the same time, according to the president, the situation in the gas market of Europe remains tense. He stressed that the spot prices for fuel are still exceeding a thousand dollars per thousand cubic meters.

Earlier on October 27, it became known that Angela Merkel led negotiations with Russia on additional gas supplies. About this, the former Chancellor reported to the countries of the European Union last week. According to Merkel, Moscow promised to increase gas reserves in German storage facilities.
