G20 leaders called to defend women’s rights in Afghanistan

The leaders of the G20 countries called on to defend the rights of women in Afghanistan. This was announced by Prime Minister Italy Mario Dragi following the summit, RIA Novosti reports.

“We discussed urgent questions, such as programs to assist refugees and human rights. We have touched the situation with the rights of women, the need to guarantee them the right to education so as not to return 20 years ago,” he said.

Earlier, the Government of the Taliban refused to deal with the provision of rights to women to work and education and stated that the Islamic theologian will decide to solve this problem. The topic of women’s rights will be discussed soon.

September 20 reported that the Taliban ordered women engaged in positions that men can occupy, to be at home and not go to work. At the same time they promised to continue paying the salary. The Afghan authorities retained the work of women who cannot be replaced – for example, female urban toilets.
