Rada will re-vote under law on oligarchs

The Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on Defense and National Security has decided to send the law on oligarchs, who accepted on September 23, to repeat voting. This was announced by the deputy from the Party “Voice” Yaroslav Zheleznyak in his Telegram-channel.

According to him, the Committee revealed legal shortcomings, since in the course of the voting parliament, several contradictory amendments were adopted. The parliamentarian explained that he would have to vote again under Article 5 of the Law, which establishes the algorithm recognition of the owner of a large business by oligarch.

He added that, according to one editing, this decision will be taken by the Council of National Security and Defense (National Security Council), and, according to another adopted editing, is the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption on Special Commission.

Zheleznyak added that the assumption of such an oversight was quite expected, since the voting regulation was violated and the majority of entrepreneurs made to the draft law were considered on a reduced procedure.

September 23, Rada took in the second, the last reading the draft law on “deoligarchization”, initiated by Vladimir Zelensky. According to the document, the oligarch should consider a person confirmed by the value of the assets of which exceeds a million subsistence minimum. Such people will be prohibited from making contributions to support political parties, being buyers of large privatization facilities, own media.

after the first reading to the draft law, more than 1.2 thousand edits were filed. The opposition criticized the initiative for the ability to share the National Secondary Law to decide who should be recognized by the oligarch.
